What to Serve with Crab Legs
What to serve with Crab Legs should be easy! The best side dishes for your crab leg dinner are classic sides that are perfect for seafood lovers and everyone in between.

If you’re hosting a dinner party, and you’ve decided to serve Crab Legs, you might be wondering what you should serve alongside it.
I love serving crab legs- it’s a fancy treat for most people and something everyone gets a real kick out of.
You will love this post if you’re searching for the perfect side dish for your crab legs. I have lots of delicious options that balance the delicate flavor of the crab meat with the full menu.
What to Serve with Crab Legs
I love serving crab legs! Whether it’s for a Christmas menu with a hunky Tomahawk Ribeye, a Surf and Turf Tower, or serving a Sheet Pan Seafood Boil! The tender, sweet meat of snow crab legs is a special occasion must-make and way easier than you think.
I’ve found it’s easiest to bake the crab legs in the oven.

Hosting a dinner party with crab legs is even better when you do the Sheet Pan Seafood Boil. Everything is made on the sheet pan — the sweet corn, the baby potatoes, shrimp, and whatever else you want to add to it. It’s a true seafood feast and something your taste buds will love!
Appetizer Options:
Since crab legs are a rich main dish, keeping your starter light and bright is the best.
I like to corral a bunch of raw veggies on a big platter, then place a dip (or two!) close by. It’s a great option to start your meal, plus it gives your guests something to do while you finish the dinner in the kitchen.

A simple Tomato Bruschetta is always delicious, too!
When you’re gathering your menu, keep in mind that you want to make as much ahead of time as you can. Both a platter of veggies and dip and the tomato bruschetta can all be made ahead of time and served when you need it.
Best Crab Dinner Sides
Let’s start with the simple side dishes everyone knows and loves.
Fresh Green Beans cooked right in a cast iron skillet is something everyone will love. If it’s grilling season, putting the skillet on the grill is especially easy. They take less than a few minutes, and it’s a healthy option for a rich meal!

If you’re craving a roasted green bean with some flavor, this easy recipe with a sweet and spicy glaze is just the ticket!
Sweet potato fries, Air Fryer French Fries, and Creamy Mashed Potatoes are also winners! (If you’re hosting Christmas Dinner, the creamy potatoes can be made a few weeks ahead of time and frozen! Woo hoo!)

Steakhouse Potatoes Romanov is a cheesy, creamy, and decadent potato side dish that you can make the day before and then heat before serving. It’s become my go-to potato side dish recipe when I’m hosting! It’s filled with sour cream, white cheddar cheese, grated onions, and it’s just sensational.
Salad Ideas for Crab Legs
I (almost!) always serve a salad at a dinner party.

My favorite salad recipe from the last couple of years is this Caprese Caesar Salad, where all the components are washed and prepped a couple of days ahead of time. The croissant croutons are :::chefs kiss:::

Making this Wedge Salad for a Crowd is also great! It’s packed with flavor, looks really bright and festive on a big platter, and everyone loves it.
Accoutrement for a Crab Leg Feast
One thing for certain: you’ve got to have melted butter on your table for the crab legs. ((I mean, we all know crab legs are really just an excuse to eat butter.))
This past Christmas, I melted a bunch of butter and put out all kinds of spices and seasonings. Everything from Old Bay Seasoning to Worcestershire Sauce to fresh herbs and cajun seasoning. People filled their little ramekins with butter and seasoned them how they wanted to! We all thought it was so much fun.
Other items you could have out:
Dipping Sauce such as cocktail sauce, a flavorful garlic butter, or just some lemon zest and lemon juice.
I like to serve French bread on the side as well! Something to mop up all the butter!
What are you serving with your crab legs?!
