Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings are the Game Day appetizer you’ll make over and over! Using a few store-bought shortcuts, a platter filled with wings is ready in less than an hour!
Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings are the bee’s knees any night of the week!!
And, y’all, with a few shortcuts from the grocery store, they can be on your couchgate in under an hour.
P.S. Have you ever made wings from scratch? Yes, they’re amazing, but did you realize how time-consuming they are?! It’s easier just to order up a couple of dozen… and call it a night!
What’s in Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings?
- Pecan Smoked Chicken Wings (I got mine from Aldi, but they also sell at Walmart)
- Duke’s Georgia Sweet Heat BBQ Sauce
- Chipotle Tabasco Sauce
- Smokehouse Maple Seasoning
Let’s chat about bbq sauce for a minute…
Y’all know I love myself some Duke’s Mayonnaise…
((Yep! I had my photographer snap some photos of me and my beloved… Don’t be surprised if it’s a Christmas Card…))
Well, did you know that Duke’s has come out with Southern Sauces, that are FABULOUS?!!
And from someone who prefers to make her own sauces, these are the real deal yummy in my tummy.
You can order some up on their website, and have them shipped right to your doorstep!
How do you make these?

You’ll want to serve these spicy wings with Green Onion Chip Dip! It’s a secret recipe being revealed in December… we’re almost there!
Tips for Making Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings
How do I keep the wings crispy after coating with sauce?
Okay, that’s just part of eating a saucy coated chicken wing… they can get a little limp.
But! First, be sure to use a wire rack on your sheet pan, so air can flow around the wings. This will ensure that each side is crispy during baking, which will help keep that crunch after sauce time.
Can I use a different BBQ sauce?
Of course, you can! Use whatever you like, or what you have left in your fridge. It’s a great time to use up something you’ve already got!
Can I use a different kind of hot sauce?
Yep! Of course! While I love Chipotle Tabasco, use whichever you prefer… Or, if you don’t want them extra spicy, leave it out!
What about using Boneless Wings?
Sure! Go for it! You can also use chicken thighs or chicken breasts from the grill with this sauce combo.
So, while you’re making your chicken wings, fill up a platter!
Go ahead and make this an “all-in-one” meal, complete with fresh veggies and chips, that you can dip.
Set this on your table, in front of your couch, or wherever you’re having your couchgate!
For me, there is nothing better than wearing a t-shirt and some yoga pants and ‘watching’ (eating all the snacks…) the game. I’m really just there for the conversation with others and the snacks.
