Easy Hack for the Best Canned Cinnamon Rolls

First, gather your ingredients:

  • canned cinnamon rolls
  • butter
  • brown sugar
  • Nuts (I used chopped pecans and peanuts, but use what you want, if you want any!)

I used the Pillsbury brand of cinnamon rolls, but I’m sure the store brand will be just fine.

Recipe Hacks Using Canned Cinnamon Rolls

You could also use:

  • Crescent Rolls
  • Can of Pillsbury Grands

Any of these would make an easy breakfast treat.

Next, gather your equipment:

  • Baking Dish (I used a round dish, but a pie plate would work very well! You could also use muffin tins and make individual cinnamon rolls!)

If you’re worried about your rolls sticking and getting stuck, use some parchment paper to line your dish!

In the bottom of the pan (baking dish, whatever you’re using!), add a couple of tablespoons of melted butter.

Then, sprinkle enough brown sugar to cover the bottom.

Next, sprinkle in your nuts on top of the brown sugar.

No need to stir anything, just leave it as is.

You might have seen the other cinnamon roll hack that uses heavy cream. If you want to give that a go, drizzle in some heavy cream for an even more delicious recipe!

Now, open your can of cinnamon rolls, remove the icing packets, and set it aside.

Lay your cinnamon rolls “face down” (the cinnamon part) face down onto the brown sugar and butter. Just nestle them in so they fit well, you can squeeze them in if you need to.

Bake at 400˚ for 10-12 minutes.

While the cinnamon rolls bake, heat up the icing pack

After the cinnamon rolls are golden brown remove them from the oven.

Place a plate over top the baking dish, and turn the baking dish over onto the plate. If you wanted to be fancy, use a cake stand like this one!

Drizzle your icing over the sweet rolls, and you’ve got the best canned cinnamon rolls your entire family will love!

This is one of my favorite ways to make a sweet breakfast item without much work. If I can do it, anyone can!

Description

This canned cinnamon rolls hack is exactly what you need to make your life easier and more delicious! Brown sugar and butter add decadence to Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and create a bakery-like cinnamon roll you’ll want to serve at your next brunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Canned Cinnamon Rolls
  • 2 TBS Melted Butter
  • 3 TBS Brown Sugar
  • 1 TBS Chopped Nuts, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400˚, or whatever your cinnamon roll package directions say.
  2. In the bottom of your baking dish, pour in the 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and cover with 3 tablespoons of brown sugar. Don’t mix it.
  3. If you’re using the 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts, go ahead and sprinkle them over the brown sugar.
  4. Pop your cinnamon roll can open, and remove the icing packet, set that aside.
  5. Place each cinnamon roll “face down” with the extra cinnamon-y side down, on top of the brown sugar. Squeeze them all into your baking dish!
  6. Bake according to your package directions, but reduce the time by 1-2 minutes. For this recipe, I used Pillsbury brand, and I baked them at 400˚ for 10 minutes.
  7. While the rolls bake, heat your icing up in the microwave for 10 seconds, so it drizzles easily.
  8. When the rolls are golden brown, remove from the oven.
  9. Add your cake plate or serving dish on top of the HOT baking dish and flip out.
  10. Drizzle the warm icing over top the ooey gooey cinnamon rolls, and serve!
