Description

Swiss Onion Dip is the ultimate easy, cheesy party appetizer! With just three simple ingredients—Swiss cheese, mayo, and sweet onion—this baked dip is irresistibly creamy, bubbly, and perfect for dipping. A crowd-pleasing favorite for any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces Swiss Cheese, shredded by hand
  • 8 ounces Mayo
  • 1 medium Sweet Onion (I use Vidalia when I can!), shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smash Seasoning (see notes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees (if you’re baking right away!).
  2. Using a box grater or crank grater, grate up the 8 ounces of Swiss Cheese and the onion.
  3. Add those to a bowl with 8 ounces (1 cup) of mayonnaise.
  4. Sprinkle in half a teaspoon of Smash Seasoning and stir everything up well.
  5. Bake at 350˚ for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  6. Serve with pretzel chips, Baguette slices, etc.

Notes

Smash Seasoning is a blend from McCormick grillmates. If you don’t have it, either use Montreal Steak Seasoning or 1/2 tsp of kosher salt, and 5-6 grinds of your black pepper mill.

You can make this a couple of days ahead of time. Just store it covered in the fridge, then plop it into a baking dish when you’re ready!
