How are you supposed to move onto normal life, whe How are you supposed to move onto normal life, when the life you feel cowardly leaving is a horror show… How are you supposed to be “business as usual,” when you know people are missing, you know they’ve lost everything… How are you supposed to share recipes when you can still hear the trees falling around you, praying it wouldn’t be on you… While I am safe and sound, I’m stuck in a middle ground… Part of me is compartmentalizing all the things, all the sites, all the smells, all the sounds from my beloved hometown; pining to move forward, posting content, and living life. The other part of me sits in silence, paralyzed, feeling helpless. Feeling guilty for leaving town and not sticking it out. ((But, if you can leave you’re supposed to evacuate, right?)) I’m not good at the helpless thing. I’m terrible in emergency situations, I’m not the person you call for that. I am great at making a plan and taking action. Seeing a situation, assessing what needs to be done, and getting it done. THIS. This is too much. 💔 Love to all my dear people as we charge forward, through another unprecedented time. As I gather my content plan and pivot, please know that when I post something, there is a broken heart posting. No, it’s not the @dukes_mayonnaise I put on the inside… No, it’s not the humble American Cheese double stack… It’s BROWN SUGAR! Just a smidge on the outside of the toasted bread! Chicken Ranch Dip! This is a play on Buffalo Chic Chicken Ranch Dip! This is a play on Buffalo Chicken Dip, but instead of hot and spicy chicken dip, we’re flipping the cards. It’s a great dip for when you have some people who don’t like the spicy buffalo chicken dip. The spicy people still get their kick with the spicy chips dipped into the cool, ranch flavored dip. It’s a great way to use up leftover rotisserie chicken, or make a show-stopping appetizer for game day, holiday parties, etc. Say RANCH in the comments, and I’ll send it to you!! . . . #chickendip #chickenrecipe #easyappetizer
Cheesy Stuffed Chicken! It’s a mouthful, that i Cheesy Stuffed Chicken! It’s a mouthful, that is SO yummy!! RECIPE for 2 Chicken Cutlets: 2 Chicken Cutlets, that you’ve added a slit to, to stuff the cheese mixture in. 2 TBS Olive Oil, divided 1 TBS The Usual, divided Cheese Mixture: 3 TBS Shallots and Chive Boursin Cheese (any flavor will do!) 3 TBS Shredded Cheddar Cheese 2 TBS Cream Cheese, room temperature To your chicken that’s been sliced, cover it with one tablespoon of the olive oil and half the seasoning blend. Rub it down all over. Mash your cheese mixture together, and stuff into your chicken evenly. If you feel like you need some toothpicks to hold it all together, go for it. Sprinkle the rest of the seasoning blend, and the rest of the olive oil. Bake your chicken at 350˚ for 30-35 minutes, or until it’s cooked through to 165 degrees internally! Let it rest for 5+ minutes. And be careful! That cheese with scorch your mouth… Don’t ask me how I know, but I know. . . . #chickenrecipe #hurricanehelene #cheesychicken

Roasting a chicken at the beginning/end (is Monday your start of the week, or is Sunday?!) of your week is one of the most comforting things to do for yourself. The garlic herb butter is the chef’s kiss for a *moist* flavor-filled chicken that pairs with all the side dishes you can think of. This recipe is an oldie but a true Goldie! 🎉 In the south, people are known for their glass of tea and maybe the porch you share it on! 🥰 This tea recipe uses simple store-bought staples that you pour together. It’s definitely a cheater iced tea recipe, and I’ve been chastised for it...a LOT! 🤦🏼‍♀️😬 Here’s how you make it! ✅ Pour a bottle of UNsweetened tea into your drink dispenser. ✅ Pour a bottle of Simply Lemonade into the dispenser. ✅ Add ✌️ tablespoons of vanilla extract. ✅ Add ✌️ tablespoons of almond extract. 🥄 Stir them together, top with ice, and garnish with lots of sliced lemons. 🍋 It’s the PERFECT Game Day weekend drink! Summer is coming to a close, but that doesn’t me Summer is coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean grill season has to end… and you’re going to want these grilled chicken tips! ((tips for grilling chicken…)) Using the Power Hour Marinade I keep in my fridge, spritz a lemon over the chicken while your grill preheats. When your grill is hot and ready, place your chicken on the grill and DO NOT SHUT THE LID. Leave the chicken alone for a few minutes, turn to either a 10 or 2 position, and THEN close the grill. I love having grilled chicken with salad, sides, in a wrap, salad, etc. What do you pair your chicken with? You need an EASY chicken marinade! In a zippy bag You need an EASY chicken marinade! In a zippy bag, add in some chicken chunks… Glug in some Worcestershire sauce and bottled Italian dressing. Close up the bag, zhuzh it around, and let it marinate for a few hours! String your chicken onto soaked skewers and air fryer. ((Yes! You could grill these!)) This is a quick meal prep idea when you’re pressed for time. Or, say you’re grilling up a bunch of food… add one more thing to list and make next week’s lunches a breeze!! This Boursin Shallot Dressing is a bougie ranch dressing, okay! You take your (homemade!) ranch dressing, add in some @garlic.expressions dressing, plus half a knob of @boursincheese to a food processor. Add in a shallot, fresh garlic clove, and fresh basil, blend it all up, and you’ve got an amazing dressing for salad, or dip fresh veggies in it! Store in an air-tight jar for up to one week, it won’t last that long, I promise! If you need some measurements here you go: 1 cup Ranch Dressing 1/4 cup Garlic Expressions Dressing 1 Shallot, diced 3 Garlic Cloves, diced 2.5 ounces Boursin Shallot & Chive Flavored Cheese 1/2 cup Fresh Basil So good, y’all! And, with Autumn flavors rolling into stores, use any flavor of jam or preserve you find. I used an Amaretto Peach Pecan preserve, along with the Spiced Cherry Preserves from @murrayscheese. Y’all! Cheesy BBQ Chicken Dip! Absolute stunner at a li Cheesy BBQ Chicken Dip! Absolute stunner at a little “Ssip and Dip” I hosted a few weeks ago! If you love buffalo chicken dip, you’ll love this sweet and tangy version. So, while your “others” are watching the Big Game collectively, snag your people and ‘Ssip while you dip! Ready for the recipe?! Here you go: 2 cups Shredded Chicken 4 ounces Softened Cream Cheese 8 ounces Shredded Cheddar Cheese (reserve a little for the top!) 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce, extra for a little drizzle Mix it all up and smoosh into a baking dish. Drizzle some extra BBQ sauce on top, as well as an extra sprinky-dink of cheese. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly!
