Hosting Valentine’s Day at Home

Hosting Valentine’s Day at home is the perfect way to spend the holiday. Whether you are enjoying a date night for two at home or lavishing lots of people around your table, this dinner party menu is going to become a favorite.

You will love these recipes because all of them are prepped ahead of time and then either heated and served or assembled and served.

How easy is that?!

cheeseboard for valentines day at home

Start the evening with a simple cheeseboard and some wine that you’ve prepped earlier in the day.

Ham and salami slices with cheese and dried fruits are a fantastic way to begin the evening.

I love serving a crisp Chablis with the cheeseboard, and it also pairs well with the Beef tenderloin!

Roasted Beef Tenderloin is my go-to fancy dinner party menu main dish.

It packs a Wow! factor, every single time!

But, the best part of this recipe?! You broil the whole piece of beef an hour and a half before you serve dinner.

It just sits on your counter, wrapped up tightly, warming to the perfect medium rare temperature.

I love serving with a couple of compound butters. Delish!

steakhouse potatoes romanov

As far as side dishes go, this recipe for Steakhouse Potatoes Romanov has become my best cheesy potato side dish recipe!

It’s grated potatoes mixed with sour cream, lots of cheese, some onions… then, it’s all baked to golden brown perfect.

You can make this the day before and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Talk about getting ahead!

You’ll remove the baking dish from the fridge when you take your beef out of the oven. Then, 30 minutes prior to dinner time, add the baking dish to the oven to cook through and brown on top.

wedge salad for a crowd

Wedge Salad for a Crowd is hunks of crispy iceberg lettuce adorned with shallots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and creamy Boursin cheese.

The dressing is really delish, too!

The day before your evening, prep the veggies. Slice up the lettuce, the cucumbers and shallots, even the tomatoes. Store them individually and then assemble them before serving.

If I have the space in my fridge, I’ll assemble on a big platter an hour or two before dinner time. But, it takes no time to plate all of these items up just before dinner.

assembled cheesecake

Now, y’all! I am not a baker… I’m not going to trouble myself with the idea of making something sweet for dessert.

Instead, I’ll head to my grocery store! I love serving a thawed frozen cheesecake that I’ve drizzled with chocolate sauce.

So easy!

I hope you enjoy Hosting Valentine’s Day at Home with your loved ones!
