  2. Simple Yet Impressive: They’re easy to prepare but look fancy, making them ideal for entertaining or dinner parties.
  3. Versatile: Serve them as appetizers, main dishes, or part of a larger spread. They pair beautifully with dips, fresh veggies, or even a simple salad.

This recipe is a 10/10 I would recommend for most people!

If you love eating chicken wings but hate the mess… these chicken skewers are for you!

You’ll need sliced chicken breast or chicken thighs.

Then, a simple blend of Montreal Steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, ranch powder, and olive oil make up the chicken marinade. It’s a fantastic marinade to use on chicken anytime, too!

For the buffalo sauce, you’ll heat up Frank’s Red Hot Sauce with butter and hot honey. Or, if you don’t want extra spice, use regular honey.

I made these chicken skewers in the air fryer, but you could do them over an outdoor grill in the summertime.

Just be sure to swipe extra sauce and hot honey over top when you serve them.

Delicious!

What to Serve with Chicken Skewers

Because I served these as an appetizer, I paired the platter with celery sticks and ranch dressing.

If I were serving as a meal, I would do Jiffy Corn Pudding or Old Fashioned Macaroni and Cheese.

A nice Wedge Salad for a Crowd would be a fantastic summertime menu!

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What is hot honey, and where can I find it?

Hot honey is honey infused with chili peppers or spices to give it a spicy kick. You can find it in most grocery stores, specialty food stores, or online—or you can make your own by heating honey with red pepper flakes or chili powder.

2. Can I use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts?

Yes! Chicken thighs are juicier and work great on skewers. Just make sure to cut them into even pieces for consistent cooking.

3. Are these skewers spicy?

They have a balance of heat and sweetness. The spice level depends on the type of buffalo sauce and hot honey used. You can adjust the spice by adding more honey or using a milder sauce.

4. Can I grill them indoors if I don’t have an outdoor grill?

Absolutely! You can use a grill pan, broil them in the oven, or cook them in an air fryer for a similar result.

Ingredients

Scale

CHICKEN MARINADE

  • 2 Chicken Breasts sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 2 tsp Ranch Powder
  • 2 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 TBS Olive Oil

HOT HONEY BUFFALO SAUCE

  • 2 TBS Butter
  • 1 TBS Hot Honey, plus extra for drizzling later!
  • 2 TBS Buffalo Sauce (I prefer Frank’s Red brand)

Instructions

  1. Add your sliced chicken to a large bowl.
  2. Add the two teaspoons of Montreal Steak Seasoning and Ranch powder, the two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and one tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Mix these around with your hands until each piece of chicken is coated well.
  4. Let this sit for 20 minutes while your wooden skewers soak.
  5. After 20 minutes, thread the chicken onto the soaked skewers, making sure you thread the chicken tightly.
  6. Place on your air fryer’s rack and air fry at 375˚ for 12 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, the chicken air fries are made with Hot Honey Buffalo Sauce.
  8. In a small pot (or skillet), melt two tablespoons of butter with one tablespoon of hot honey and two tablespoons of buffalo sauce over medium heat. Let this come to a simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove the chicken and flip it in the air fryer, swiping the Hot Honey Buffalo Sauce over each skewer before air frying again.
  10. Air fry the chicken skewers for 10 minutes at 400˚.
  11. Swipe the remaining buffalo sauce on top of the chicken skewers and an extra drizzle of hot honey.
  12. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • You can use regular honey if you’d like, or you don’t have hot honey.
  • Sliced chicken thighs work well, too.
  • I used the 6-inch bamboo skewers, so this would make a fantastic appetizer!
