Who doesn’t love Taco Tuesday?!

I can remember as a child when my mom would pull out the Taco Kit box, we would get SO excited.

((Tell me you were like that too!))

While you can make your own taco seasoning, and it’s healthier, sure, I prefer the taste of the packet.

Call this foodie crazy, but there are some things that I will not go “homemade” on.

A few of those:

  • Ranch Powder — it has to be brand name, Hidden Valley.
  • Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce — I need that bottle, with the paper off.
  • Old El Paso Taco Seasoning — and I buy it in the can.

You can argue with me all day long about these, but I will gladly agree to disagree. I’m not budging on these! ?

Easy Ground beef soft shell tacos

One of the things I love about going to a Mexican restaurant is the giant plates.

With your taco “business” all right there for you.

So, here’s an easy way to serve your tacos, stuffed with the taco meat, and all the fixings on the platter.

Simple Crunchy Ground Beef tacos

Easy Ground Beef Tacos are definitely a busy weeknight meal — the whole thing comes together in under 20 minutes.

It’s great if you have older kids who can help you assemble all the toppings.

And the best part, this gathers your people around the table in no time.

What ground beef is best for tacos?

I use 93% ground beef, you’re adding water to the seasoning, so you don’t want the extra fat you would need in a burger.

Now comes the debate whether you prefer a soft tortilla shell or a crunchy corn shell.

These ground beef tacos are perfectly customizable.

When you lay out all the ‘parts,’ people can make their own right at the table.

How do you make taco meat from scratch?

Over medium-high heat, brown your ground beef until cooked all the way through, and broken apart. I LOVE this kitchen tool and use it every time I cook ground beef.

Sprinkle in the seasoning, and stir really well.

You’ll want to add some water to make this a loose mixture — if you’re feeling extra fancy, you could add a can of Rotel tomatoes!

Let this simmer for about 8 minutes or so.

Then, gather all your taco supplies, and get filling! Dinner is ready.

Does Taco Meat Freeze Well?

Yes! It sure does! While you’re making tacos for the family, go ahead and make some meat to freeze in small containers.
