Garlic Buffalo Chicken Wings are the super bowl appetizer idea you HAVE to try this year!

Every Super bowl spread needs a platter of wings piled high, with copious amounts of ranch dressing to dunk them in.

How to Make Garlic Buffalo Chicken Wings

First, let’s gather up the ingredients:

Next, we’re going to head to the STORE for some pre-fried chicken wings!

Yep, you read that correctly!

I’ve made chicken wings in my oven and air fryer, and while I love them… When I want a giant platter with enough to feed a super bowl party, I don’t want to actually make them…

So, I head to my local grocery store (my favorite ones are from Publix!), and buy the non-breaded cooked chicken wings!

Then, I come home and make the Garlic Buffalo Sauce.

Let’s make this sauce!

Chop up a ton of garlic… I mean a ton! I used 6 cloves. And instead of using a microplane (my usual method of mincing garlic), I chopped it by hand. I wanted the sauce to have big chunks of garlic, so hand chopping is the way to go!

To a skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter, let it melt, and get foamy over medium heat.

Once the butter is foamy, add the chopped garlic, and stir around using a wooden spoon for about 30 seconds to become super fragrant.

After 30 seconds, pour in 6 ounces of Frank’s RedHot Sauce to the butter and garlic.

Use a whisk, and really whisk all the butter in. It takes some effort, keep going until there are no butter “lines” anywhere in the sauce.

Drizzle in your tablespoon of golden syrup, and whisk that in. (If you can’t find golden syrup you can use honey or maple syrup!)

Let this bubble for 2 minutes, then turn off the stove!

At this point, dump your store-bought chicken wings into a big bowl. The bigger the better (and if it comes with a lid or you have one with a lid, use that!)

Pour the sauce over your wings, then toss to coat super well. (This is where you would put a lid on it, and SHAKE!)

You can serve as is right away. But, since my wings are usually room temperature or cold from when I purchased them, I will throw the sauced wings onto a sheet pan, and broil for 1-2 minutes.

After a couple of minutes under the broiler, I’ll toss them back into the bowl with the sauce and do this whole process of sauce >> broil again! (I like super saucy wings!)

Finally, add these to a big platter, and serve with homemade ranch and celery sticks! YUM!

  3. After 30 seconds, pour in 6 ounces of Frank’s RedHot Sauce to the butter and garlic.

  6. Let this bubble for 2 minutes, then turn off the stove!
  7. Dump your storebought wings into a BIG bowl.

  9. Scoop your wings out of the sauce onto a sheet pan, and BROIL for 1-2 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven, and plop back into the sauce in the big bowl.
  11. Give another toss to coat really well, again.
  12. If you’re happy with them, pile high on a plate and serve!
  13. I like to sauce and broil one more time, just so there is plenty of saucy goodness on the wings!
