Sloppy Joe Side Dishes are the recipe you need to make your family dinner complete!
This is what to serve with sloppy joes!
Ever wondered what to serve with sloppy joes? Sloppy Joes are a family favorite!
You’ll need a great addition to the main meal, so give any of these great side dish ideas a try!
First, let’s chat about Sloppy Joes for a minute…
I love making a homemade, delicious sloppy joe sauce with chili sauce, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and other simple ingredients. I’ll use this sauce to make the perfect recipe of sloppy joe sandwiches with hamburger buns, or use the loose meat mixture over tater-tots or even hot dogs!
For an Easy Sloppy Joe Dinner, get out your slow cooker! Once you’ve made a big pot of homemade sloppy joes, pour the meat sauce into your slow cooker. Put out buns and other toppings like dill pickles and red onion for a delicious topping idea! I love making up little sliders and serving those too. In other words, any way to make an easy dinner, I’m all in!
But, one thing to remember! If you’re hosting sloppy joe night for your family gatherings, you’ll want to *try* and make it easy on yourself! Choose side dish recipes that you can either make ahead or give the recipes to your people and have them bring them to the party! A delicious meal is always complete when others pitch in and help.
Sloppy Joe Side Dishes
There are so many side dish recipes that I’ll be breaking them into categories.
Classic Side Dish Ideas:
Macaroni and Cheese – This (Soul Food) Southern Baked Macaroni and Cheese Recipe has all the amazing ingredients like cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and might just be the perfect side dish!
Easy Coleslaw Recipe – For me, this is one of the best side dishes! I love a creamy coleslaw recipe with a mayo-based dressing. Of course, you can always pick up a coleslaw mix from the grocery store and use the packaged dressing! Pro Tip: Add a drizzle of red wine vinegar to the store-bought dressing! That’s the easiest way to make a store-bought dressing taste more homemade.
Classic Potato Salad – Love me some *good* Potato Salad! I need lots of hard-boiled eggs, pickle relish, and onions!
Other Delicious Side Dish Ideas:
Tater Tots – you can use the air fryer or bake them yourself. If you want to add a little something give them a sprinkle of garlic powder when they come out of the oven or air fryer! Garlic Powder and a little salt is a great way to an easy side dish a little bit fancier! If you’ve got leftover sloppy joe meat pour is over cheesy tater tots for another favorite sloppy joe recipe! Give this Air Fryer Tater Tots recipe a try from Aubrey’s Kitchen!
French Fries – such classic comfort food!
