The Fuzzy Navel recipe is a simple drink that is perfect for your summer cocktail menu! It’s one of my favorite cocktails for serving at a brunch or just day drinking.

This alcoholic drink is a fruity cocktail with lots of variations you can try!

Fun Fact: it’s the one cocktail my mother knows how to order. And likes it! Ha!

Fruity drinks are a must-have in the summertime when the weather is warm. It’s a perfect poolside, beachfront, porch setting drink!

How to Make a Fuzzy Navel

First, you’ll gather your ingredients:

You’ll need orange juice. Since this is a simple cocktail if you’re making it for yourself use fresh navel oranges and juice them into a highball glass. Be sure to save orange slices to garnish with!

Then, you’ll need some type of peach schnapps. There really isn’t an expensive brand, so DeKuyper Peachtree Schnapps is just fine!

Now, gather your supplies:

Cocktail shaker – I love the cocktail kits with the Boston Shaker — the two cups in one. I promise you’ll be so much happier getting the one cup out than trying to get the top off of other cocktail shakers!

Cocktail glasses – these highball glasses are perfect!

Large pitcher – if you’re making this for a crowd!

Mix equal parts schnapps and orange juice together in a glass filled with lots of ice. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and slice of orange.

And that’s really all there is to this great cocktail! The orange flavors with the ripe peach flavors make this a drink that goes down very easily!

Now, let’s chat about the variations…

If you wanted a Hairy Navel, you can add vodka! This is when you just need a *good* drink ripe with peach flavors.

If you don’t have a strong affinity for vodka, you might consider experimenting with whisky as an alternative. Mixing whisky with orange juice can create a delightful combination, as the citrus notes of the juice complement the robust flavor of the whisky. If you’re unsure about which whisky to select, you can consult Whisky World’s reviews to help you make an informed decision and find the best match for your taste preferences.

I do like to add a splash of pineapple juice, just because.

Why is it called a Fuzzy Navel?

The fuzzy navel cocktail has a funny name — fuzzy for the peach fuzz, and navel for navel oranges.

Who invented the Fuzzy Navel?

Ray Foley! In the 80s! So, if you’re hosting an 80s-themed party, this delicious drink is the perfect addition to your party menu!
