Boursin Marinara Dip
Boursin Marinara Dip is the easiest appetizer you’ll ever make — just 2–4 ingredients, 5 minutes, and it disappears every single time. Perfect for parties, happy hour, or last-minute guests!

You’ll Love This Recipe Because…
- It takes literally 5 minutes to assemble (yes, really!).
- Uses just 2–4 ingredients you can grab from the grocery store.
- It’s elegant enough for a dinner party but easy enough for a Tuesday night happy hour.
- Everyone asks for the recipe — and then doesn’t believe how easy it is.
This Boursin Marinara Dip is my go-to when I want something crowd-pleasing without any effort.
It’s creamy, tangy, herby, and absolutely perfect for scooping with hunks of crusty bread.
You can serve it chilled for a fresh, light dip or heat it for a bubbly, cozy appetizer.

I first served it at my mom’s 70th birthday party, and it was the only dish that came back completely empty — everyone wanted the recipe!
Tips & Tricks
- Choose the right marinara: I recommend Rao’s or Carbone for the best flavor. For a smaller group, use their pizza sauce jars — they’re the perfect size.
- Boursin flavor: Basil & Chive is my favorite here, but Garlic & Fine Herbs also works beautifully.
- Bread matters: Serve with untoasted bread so people can scoop and soak up all that creamy marinara goodness.
- Make it fancy: Drizzle with balsamic glaze and scatter fresh basil leaves for an elevated look.
- Serve it hot or cold: Pop it in a 350°F oven for 10–15 minutes for a melty, cozy version.

What to Serve With
Pair this dip with:
- A charcuterie board for variety, or on this Italian Triple Dipper Board.
- Crisp white wine or a light red like Pinot Noir.
- A fresh green salad if you want to balance the richness.

Tools & Equipment
- Serving dish (oven-safe if baking) – Small baking dish, pictured. This scalloped stoneware from Hearth and Home works great for a bigger version of this recipe!
- Bread knife for slicing your loaf

FAQ
Can I make this ahead?
Yes! Assemble up to 24 hours ahead, cover, and refrigerate. If baking, add 5 minutes to the oven time.
What bread works best?
Soft Italian or French loaves are perfect. Avoid bread that’s too crusty — you want a tender scoop.
Can I use another cheese?
Absolutely! Try herbed goat cheese or even whipped ricotta for a different twist.

Notes
For a large crowd, I’ll make this in a shallow bowl about 12″ wide, using a full24-ounce jar of marinara sauce. I’ll use TWO wheels of Boursin cheese. I personally prefer using the Basil & Chive AND the Shallot & Chive flavors for the “big” version of this easy appetizer.
For the smaller version, I used the 7.5″ by 6″ Staub baking dish. That holds a 12.3 ounce jar of pizza sauce, and one wheel of Boursin cheese.
