Vanilla Almond Iced Tea

Vanilla Almond Tea is the zhuzhed up version of an Arnold Palme.
Subtle hints of vanilla and almond are mixed with tea and lemonade.

A southerner is known by their glass of sweet tea.

While this tea is a bit different, I have never had a complaint when served!

Plain sweet tea is great, but for special occasions, this recipe is perfect.

The tart hint of lemonade and the subtle Almond-Vanilla flavors add a depth that cannot be matched.

Plus, it looks absolutely amazing in a dispenser with lemon and orange slices added!

I used this tea for the Mason Jar Themed Wedding Shower.

We’ve all heard of Arnold Palmer’s – the delightfully tart half lemonade half tea drink. This recipe is similar, but with the addition of vanilla extract and almond extract.

Once you start making tea this way, you won’t want it any other way!

How to Make Vanilla Almond Iced Tea

First, let’s start by boiling a kettle with 8 cups of water (or 2 quarts!).

Once the water has boiled, steep your tea bags inside for 3-5 minutes. I prefer the 5 minute mark, as I like my “spoon standing up” in my tea. (That means super strong…!)

While the tea is still hot, stir in the cup of sugar until dissolved then pour into a drink container.

Next, you’ll pour in 8 cups of cold water, along with the lemonade concentrate. Stir this until the lemonade dissolves.

Finally, stir in the extracts and allow to chill for a few hours in the fridge.

You want to serve this ice cold!

Let’s chat about your drink container for a moment.

This makes right at a gallon and a bit more. A gallon jug won’t be big enough to add the lemonade and stir it well without sloshing everywhere. I suggest using two gallon jugs to mix this, then pour into a dispenser and give it a good stir before serving.

If you’ve ever needed a crowd-pleasing drink for a wedding or baby shower, birthday gathering, or any kind of potluck, this is your new go-to drink!

Double this recipe, and it serves a real crowd.

For super quick version of the recipe use a gallon of your favorite unsweetened tea + a gallon of your favorite lemonade. Stir in the extracts, and you’ve got yourself Vanilla Almond Tea!
