The ULTIMATE Baked Potato Bar

The Ultimate Loaded Baked Potato Bar is filled with topping ideas such as sour cream, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and some not-so-traditional toppings!

This is the ULTIMATE baked potato bar, for a very good reason.

Remember my Grazing Board I showed you?? Well, I used that and added all the toppings for baked potatoes you will ever need!

These little buckets came from Target, in their party/wedding section.

There are four to a set for $6. I cannot tell you how often I use them!

For all kinds of things. To hold silverware, these toppings, or as a pen cup, etc.

They even have little chalkboard labels on the front. I’ve never used them — but, maybe someday!

WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR A BAKED POTATO BAR?

  • Potatoes – I prefer russet potatoes
  • Favorite Toppings
  • Salad
  • Plates, flatware, etc
  • Drinks
  • Dessert

This was such a fun supper club theme! It’s super great for including lots of people.

The Ultimate Baked Potato Bar is great for neighborhood gatherings, tailgating, family dinners, etc.

One of the best parts is you can delegate all the toppings out to people, and ask them to bring one or two. That way, they feel included, and you don’t have everything on you.

A giant salad was served alongside, to round out the meal — since, the potatoes + toppings were the main attraction.

My friend, Mindy made this gorgeous grilled veggie salad.

The salad is filled with grilled onions, zucchini, and squash topped with with mixed greens and fresh spinach along with tangy feta cheese.

A balsamic drizzle was all that this salad needed on top!

For our main dish, we chose just a good baked potato!

If you’d like the main dish, I’ve got some great options for you!

Main Dish Ideas:

  • Pot Roast (another great filling idea for jacket potatoes!)
  • Grilled Chicken
  • Marinated Steak

I’ll talk you through each of these toppings — but, you can also download my FREE printable! It’s got everything you need to host your very own baked potato bar!

Perfect Baked Potato Recipe

There are LOTS of methods, and I’ve tried most of them.

My mom enjoys rubbing potatoes in bacon grease or olive oil, then rolling them in sugar for crispy skin. She bakes them all together in a 9×13 pyrex dish or baking sheet.

Joy wraps her potatoes in foil and places them on the racks of the oven for an hour or so.

I place potatoes directly on the COLD oven racks, then bake at 350 degrees until cooked through.

However, if you cook your potatoes, be sure to give them proper time, so they’re cooked through.

There’s nothing worse than a par-cooked potato, and you get that crunch when you bite into it. You want that fluffy interior that reminds you of your favorite steakhouse!

You could also toss the aluminum foil-wrapped whole potato into a slow cooker, and let them cook on low all day.

Baked Potato Bar Topping Ideas

On this big tray, I’ve got:

You can fill your topping cups with whatever you want!!

We had to pair down our list — it got out of control very quickly!

Other Potato Toppings:

  • Black Beans
  • Cream Cheese
  • Pat of Butter
  • Bacon Bits
  • Bean Chili
  • Your Favorite Protein, like ground beef or a pulled pork dish

This is such a fun tailgating idea when you’re watching the big game.

If you end up with leftovers, it’s a great way to make potato soup and enjoy that delicious potato mixture a second time!

Potato skins make a great recipe for leftovers, too!

A baked potato bar is an easy meal to serve as a complete meal!

What topping ideas would you have included??
