First, here is the list of juices we’re going to go over in this post:

  • Cranberry Juice
  • Grapefruit Juice
  • Tomato Juice
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Fresh Lemon Juice

All of these make up some of the most popular cocktail recipes you’ll find on any bar menu, and they’re exactly what you need to keep in your bar’s pantry!

We’ll break down several simple vodka drinks, the juices, and other ingredients you’ll need, and a few other tips and tricks.

Before we do that, let’s make sure you have your bar equipment fully stocked!

Home Bar Equipment Essentials

You’ll need a cocktail shaker, a cocktail spoon, an ice bucket and scoop, a jigger, a muddler, and a Hawthorne strainer. These all come in sets like this one.

There is a gazillion to choose from, but I highly recommend getting a Boston Shaker set!

If you’ve ever filled your cobbler shaker, poured your drink, then tried to remove the top… It’s almost impossible! And so annoying if you’ve got a few people waiting for you to mix their drink up at your dinner party…! Yikes!

The Boston Shaker uses two “glasses” one that is metal, and one that is either a glass or metal as well.

You add your ice, liquor, mixers, and anything else to one side, add the other “glass” on top, then shake. Nothing comes out, or spills! You can easily release the two metal glasses and use a Hawthorne strainer to pour your drink into your glass.

Speaking of glasses, here are my must-haves for your home bar:

Highball Glass – this one you can choose to get a little fancy with and use these tall and skinny glasses. Highball glasses are usually 10-16 ounces, and are taller in shape. They’re meant to hold ice cubes as well as your beverage. Therefore, you need a little more room in this glass.

You would serve Tom Collins, Long Island Iced Tea, Gin Rickey, Screwball, or something of the sort in a tall glass.

Lowball Glass or Rocks Glass – it’s the low glass you’ll use for your bourbon. This glass is short, wide, and has a heavier bottom. It typically holds between 8-10 ounces.

You’ll also need an assortment of martini glasses and wine glasses.

Fruity Cocktail Recipes

We can’t talk about juices to mix without talking about a vodka cranberry! It’s a super popular drink, and crazy easy to make at home. Vodka + Cranberry Juice. That’s all!

Add in some lime juice and a lime wedge on the side if you’re fancy. The tart cranberry juice plays well with the taste of vodka. If you’d like this one a little sweeter, and less tart, add in a splash of simple syrup.

Vodka Cranberry – We can’t talk about juices to mix without talking about a vodka cranberry!

This drink is also known as a Cape Codder! Cape Cod cocktails are famous for using cranberries since they’re grown nearby.

Lemon Drop Martini – this one is a sweet vodka martini. It’s got fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, orange liqueur, and vodka. Such a class recipe!

Add a sugared rim to your martini glass for a special occasion, and a sweet hit as you’re drinking this class cocktail.

Classic Screwdriver – this is an orange juice cocktail. It’s just vodka plus orange juice! Add in some grenadine and maraschino cherries for a Vodka Sunrise!

Fuzzy Navel Cocktail – Mix orange juice with orange schnapps, and a little vodka for a drink that won’t even make you think there’s alcohol in it!

Vodka Gimlet – this is a gin gimlet, but swapping vodka for the gin! Shaken with lime cordial (which is just lime juice, water, and sugar boiled together to create a syrupy sweet addition to any drink!), it’s served in a gimlet glass, like this one.

Sea Breeze – this is another one of the people’s favorite vodka cocktail recipes! It’s vodka with cranberry juice and grapefruit juice.

Moscow Mule – Ginger beer, vodka, and fresh lime juice! This one is served in a copper cup and is a bright, spring and summer drink.

Other sweet additions

You could add ginger ale, lemon-lime soda, or triple sec to any of these cocktails to amp up the recipe.

Add pineapple juice to vodka and you’ve got yourself an island-ready cocktail!

juice of a few flowers

Another fruit-juice-forward recipe is a Juice of a Few Flowers Cocktail! It’s got lots of fresh lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit juices with vodka.

Soda Water Cocktails

Vodka Tonic – a great option for people who want simple and understated. Tonic water is slightly more bitter than club soda, but it’s a great option for vodka lovers.

Vodka Soda – this one uses club soda, the perfect mixer for a fizzy taste! You could also substitute seltzer water, too. The subtle flavors from various fizzy water pair nicely with almost any clear spirit.

These fizzy additions to your cocktail bar are the best way to create a “spritz” from any of these cocktail recipes.

Savory Cocktails

You read this far and I haven’t even mentioned anything about the Classic Vodka Bloody Mary!

For good reason, it’s a vodka lover’s favorite!

To your glass, you’ll add ice and vodka. Fill it almost to the top with Bloody Mary mix, and add a lemon wedge, some Worcestershire sauce, and maybe some extra hot sauce or horseradish. This is one of the best things about Saturday morning brunch, and a full Biscuit Bar!

Bloody Mary mix is made using tomato juice and you can definitely make your own! However, there are some amazing options on the market that enhance any home bar setup.

Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix is a favorite by all who buy it! But, this southern girl loves her Charleston Mix Bloody Mary Mix, Bold and Spicy!

When I host a Biscuit Brunch, I’ll lay out all the fixings for bloody marys.

  • A bottle of vodka
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Lemons and Limes
  • Black Pepper
  • Kosher Salt
  • Pickled Okra
  • Pickles
  • Celery sticks (with the leaves, of course!)
  • Hot Sauce
  • Horseradish
  • Olives
  • Roasted Bacon (Snoop Dogg’s Billionaire’s Bacon is phenomenal in a Bloody Mary drink!)

Arrange all these out on the counter along with lots of ice, glasses, and a few spoons to stir it up with.

Breakfast happy hour never tasted so good!

Other Easy Vodka Drinks

These are a good choice when you don’t have juice on hand, or you just want something a little silkier! They’re the perfect choice for your brunch or after-dinner nightcap.

White Russian – It’s equal parts vodka, coffee liqueur, and cream. Shake it all up, pour it into a lowball glass, and it’s a really lovely drink! If you don’t like the coffee flavor, use crème de cacao instead. The dark chocolate flavor is delicious!

Black Russian – This one leaves out the cream from the White Russian. Just equal parts vodka and coffee liqueur.
