Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 tsp Dried Basil
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/2 cup Seasoned Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Ricotta Cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 French Loaf of bread, sliced
- 2 TBS Olive Oil
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce
- 1 lb. Fresh Mozzarella, sliced
Instructions
- Mix one pound of ground beef and a teaspoon of garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, and kosher salt in a large bowl. Add half a teaspoon of black pepper, two eggs, half a cup of ricotta cheese, and half a cup of breadcrumbs.
- Slice your bread on the bias, and using a spreading knife, spread one tablespoon of the mixture onto each slice. (You might end up with extra meat; either make it into meatballs to enjoy later or slice some more bread!)
- Lay the meat + bread pieces on a baking sheet and drizzle with two tablespoons of olive oil.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
- Remove the baking tray from the oven, then spoon marinara over each toasty and a slice of fresh mozzarella.
- Return the baking tray to the oven and bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. You can use your broiler, but please watch carefully!
