When I was a little girl, my mom would get a call from our neighbor each July saying “the blueberries are ready for picking! I’m going early on Thursday morning.” Mom and Susan would pack the kids in to the car, and head way out to Fairview to a little blueberry field. We would tie on carved out milk jugs, and head into the field. We would pick for what seemed like HOURS in the hot sun, not stopping until the jogs were full. The lady would always yell at the boys for throwing blueberries…. She wasn’t that nice of a lady ? — I don’t think she enjoyed kids! We would get all these blueberries home — wash and dry them — freeze them on sheet pans — then pack away in quart size bags. MBB always LOVED stacking the packages high and seeing her hard work. This is a nice story, but I don’t remember this whole process being fun… ? Now, I have a berry allergy and only eat blueberries I pick… Which is rare!! ? I still that “eeeesh!” feeling when I think about going blueberry picking. ??
I’ve picked out some great blueberry recipes for you this week! As well as a couple that don’t really have blueberries in them — although they would work well with blueberries! Enjoy!

We are thrilled that you came by to link up today! Here are a few rules that hosts and co-hosts of the Home Matters Party follow, and we ask that you follow them, as well.
- Please link up no more than THREE posts each week–try to make sure that they are new links that you have not shared here previously. (Exception: Holiday/Seasonal specific posts may be shared once per year.)
- Please take some time to poke around and visit some of the other links.
- Please take some time to check out your hosts and co-hosts on social media.
- We appreciate the variety of blogs on the www; however, the Home Matters Party is for links on matters of the HOME. Please link accordingly.
- We ask that you do not add other Linky Parties, Blog Hops, or Giveaways–unless you begin the party with a new project, recipe or post.
- On the same note, please do not add links of an extremist, political or strong controversial nature. (The hosts and co-hosts read each and every blog post linked and will contact you directly if you have linked something that does not fit into the realm of the party.)
With your help, we can continue to grow the Home Matters Party! Thank you!
